Are your Corvette parts made from 100% Carbon Fiber or is it just the top layer?

All RSC Carbon Fiber is 100% Pre-Impregnated Carbon Fiber.  No other materials such as Fiberglass or CFRP are utilized.

Pre-Impregnated Carbon Fiber is the strongest, lightest, highest quality Carbon Fiber manufacturing process available for these parts.

Are your parts made from 100% Carbon Fiber or is it just the top layer?

Are these C8 Side Vents sold in pairs?

Yes the carbon intake vents are sold in pairs (2 pieces per side, 4 pieces total)

Is this both the upper piece for the door handle and the lower piece?

As indicated by the photos this is a 4 piece kit and includes both the door handle pieces & the lower trim pieces

Are the Carbon Fiber Side Vents hard to install on my Corvette?

It's all relative to a certain degree, but the most difficult part of this installation is removing the door panels to remove the door handles and install the upper pieces. Once the door panels are removed the rest of the installation is pretty easy and straight forward.

What is Pre-Impregnated Carbon Fiber & Why is it superior?

Pre-Impregnated Carbon Fiber is a type of Carbon Fiber fabric which is pre-impregnated with resin during the manufacturing process.  This creates a perfect resin distribution throughout the material.

If you can imagine carbon fiber as a chain; the weakest link of the chain will always fail first. With wet-layup methods or "Resin Infusion" a piece of dry carbon fiber cloth is laid in a mold and the resin is either painted onto the cloth, or sucked into the material by using a vacuum.  The issue with these inferior methods is the inconsistency in the resin distribution and tendency to have weak points which tend to fail. 

With Pre-Impregnated Carbon Fiber, you get a much stronger part due to the lack of those weak links. In addition to the strength, you also achieve a much more beautiful weave pattern which we all love.  Because the material is already impregnated with resin, it does not suffer from the distortion created by the resin infusion. Another benefit is weight, because the resin is evenly distributed by a complex manufacturing process. Only the perfect amount of Epoxy resin is used which results in less weight & more strength.

Finally, all of our parts are cured using state-of-the-art Autoclaves, enhancing the strength and shape of the part and finish quality.
